Choosing the right swimwear for your shape.Saturday, 1 December 2007 You really can find the right swimwear to suit your shape if you follow our guidelines: One-peice or Two-Peice swimsuit? One peice suits can be just as beautiful and sexy as one-peice suits. Many one-peice swimsuits will show more back and less tummy, others show abit more cleavage or thigh. Show off your best assets and conceal the not so great. Small on Top Look for tops with padding, underwire or demi-bra style with adjustable straps at the shoulders and around the back so you can tighten and adjust to fill out. Bandeau tops are also a great option as are tri-tops. Big on Top Halter-top bikinis can be a good choice as they offer support whilst providing some sexy cleavage. Look for styles that are banded around the midriff and can be tied around the back and around the neck. If you are looking for a one-peice swimsuit look for structure in the bust such as soft foam cups of a shelf bra. Wide shoulder straps will also be much more comfortable than thin spagetti straps. Avoid strapless bandeau tops and tiny tri-top bikinis. Short legs or torso Find swimwear that is cut high on the thigh to elongate your leg. Vertical stripes will also visually lengthen your body as well as wearing a solid bikini botton with a printed top. Avoid boy shorts and skirted bikinis and they wil make you look shorter. No Waist If you don't have many curves create some by wearing one-peice swimsuit with a high on the thigh cut. A belted waistline on a one-peice suit will give the appearance of a smaller middle. Bikinis are also a good choise, especially ones with rings at hips or ruffles and bows. Avoid solid coloured or horizontal stripe one-peice swimsuits. Too Much Tummy If you are self conscious about your tummy try one of those fabulous, tummy, control panel, swimsuits: they really work wonders. If you’re going for a two-piece swimsuit, then checkout the great range of tankinis that are now available. They cover just enough, but you still have the freedom and hip factor of a bikini. A one-piece with some draping around the waist or hips can also help to conceal. Avoid itsy bitsy bikinis and blah, solid colored, one-pieces. Big on bottom The newest, mini-skirted bikinis are too cute and made just for you! Don’t go for a super frilly one, though. Instead, pick a smooth, skimming skirt that is short and sweet, but covers what it needs to. A ruffled or highly decorated top is OK though. The details will draw attention to your top half.
